This movie was talked about extremely, but I never saw it in theaters. This movie became so blown up that when I bought it yesterday I was afraid I would be disappointed. Well I wasn't! I truly enjoyed this film. I thought it was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful to look at since it was all filmed on blue screen. Just a great look to it.

PLOT *CONTAINS SPOILERS*
In the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian army in the mountain pass of Thermopylae. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the enemy in one of the most famous last stands of history. Persian King Xerxes lead a Army of well over 100,000 (Persian king Xerxes before war has about 170,000 army) men to Greece and was confronted by 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and other Slave soldiers. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender or withdraw left with no options he moved. The battle lasted for about 3 days and after which all 300 Spartans were killed. The Spartan defeat was not the one expected as a local shepherd named Ephialtes defected to the Persians and informed Xerxes of a separate path through Thermopylae, which the Persians could use to outflank the Greeks.

Like I said I truly enjoyed this movie. The only thing I didn't like was the dialogue sometimes. Little lines like "We're in for one wild night." didn't really work for me. However lines like "Tonight we dine in Hell!" did work for me. Very Happy I just wished they would have toned up some of the dialogue.
Also the beginning of this film seems fairly rushed. I really wish they would have taken more time to show the cause of the war, when it was only shown and talked about briefly. However the action truly makes up for it. I mean this is just mesmerizing. Body dismemberment, decapitation, swords through the eye, I mean this movie gets brutal. And I loved just about every second of it. There's not much else I can say about this movie, because it's just that good. You must see it for yourself. I think Jamie is crazy for hating this movie. Very Happy

I would have to give this movie:

4.5/5 stars.

Cheers!!

Thw slow motioned fights over and over just didn't do it for me, yeah the fights were brutal which kept me watching but I like a fast paced fight because there is more action the fights in 300 were more one sided and you never thought that the Spartans would actually get killed until the end. Still don't see how you liked the film Very Happy But everyone has their own views, nice review mate keep it up.

I thought the movie blew big time...I was pretty disappointed...I'm sorry but once you've seen one slow motion fight you have seen them all...Only high point of that movie was the "This is madness" - "This is Spartaaaaaa!" bit...Great review dude...Look forward to reading more!

Thanks man!
The film was very blown up, but I'm a sucker for slow motion I guess. Very Happy There was just so much detail in the action, the style, just really did it for me.

Cheers!!
