First off let me start by saying this is my first ever game review and it might not be that good, but I'll take a snap at it. I was never relaly a hardcore gamer by heart, but since I have got my 360 I can't help being a fan of the console and the game alike. The last few weeks I have been trying to boost my collection with some great titles, one game that relaly got my eye from the box art was Assasins Creed. After chekcing out the cover and reading a little on it on the magic box called a computer, I decided this sounded like my kind of game.
Assasins Creed is mostly based in the year 1191, as you play as a assasin who follows the creed who at the start of a game makes a grave mistake that costs him all of his respect within his order. Thus meaning he has to regain that respect by meeting the requiremnts of different targets and putting them out of action...permantley. The game starts off a little wierd but once you find out what's going on it really ties you into this game, and keeps you on your toes for what twists and turns this has in store.

Story
Now as I said before you play as Altair an assasin from the third crusade in 1191, the storyline in my opinion is very intriguing and makes you want to continue playing to have the story unfold. Not only this but it would have to be one of the most imaginative and creative storylines I have ever come across in a game for a long time. Not only this but the game ends in a massive twist that some may see coming and others not, but either way it blows your mind and make syou enjoy the game even more. Allthough the complete ending of the game leaves a little left to desire, I will say this for those who like me were a little mad at the ending before I got the facts straight. This is the first game in a trilogy, so if the game ends with loose ends and nothing tied up, this is why.

Design
Presentation wise this game is breathtaking, playing the game you could actually feel like you were there. The whole designs ofthe land, population, features and when you see the entire sight of the city before you leave you gobsmacked at the size and detail this game has included into making some of the best cities to explore. With little glitches or bad effects the presentation of this game is awesome, the detail involved in every part of this game is never wavered and it just continues to look as good as ever throughout the exprience.

Sound
Not only are the graphics and features in this game amazing, but you will be quite astounded at just how clear and numerous the sounds are in this game. You will hear the crowd around you talking to one another and shall you bump into them you will find out, since nearly each time this happened or when the crowd saw you climbing a wall or an object you would get a new response. It is quite good to see that even though there is some repetitiveness in the sounds that they were able to put in as much variety as they did, which helps the game in the long run.

Gameplay
When starting off you are introduced to horse back ring when getting to and from different cities, this takes awhile but once you have visitted the city you won't have to ride to it again and it will allow you to wapr there, which saves time in which could be a very annoying task if this wasn't done. This game seems easy enough when jumping from rooftops and hanging wooden planks with just the press of a button, but when you have 10-15 soldiers chasing you not hindering at any step you take up walls, across building this is quite hard and very exciting to play aswell. The main storyline of a assasinations is great fun, but you will get a bit repetituive when you must find view points in every location you visit, which means youc limb to certain vantage points to allow other parts of your map to be filled in and show different side missions and main tasks. The main tasks leading up to the assasinations are quite fun, but also get get a little reptitive but not as much as the side missions themselves. Allthough it is fun to save citizens from a huge out numbered stack on their behalf and increase your health bar, it can get annoying when it is the same thing over and over. These are optional but some need to be done to unlock vintilanties who blocks out soldiers for you or scholars who are moving hide points that allow you to get into gurded areas. The fights themselves get challenging near the completion of the game and after assasination targets, but apart from that the actual battles are quite easy. You can fight off 15 soldiers with ease as one attacks you while the other 14 watch him die, then another will attack...bad AI but near the end of the ga,me this improves.

Lasting Appeal
All in all this game is very enjoyable and a few faults can be let go for the in-depth storyline with some great twists and some great graphics, with sub par AI fights the game lacks a little and with the repetition of certain events going through the game a second time isn't relaly in the cards. With nothing more needed to be unlocked except looking for different flags scattered around the cities you visit, basically thrown in to make the game seem longer. There really isn't any reason to play the game again, plus with no online play or multiplay this doesn't really keep you playing the game once you have completed the story. I really enjoyed the game and it took a decent 12-16 hours to complete all together, it has allot more good qualities then bad but this is nowhere near the perfect game, but it definity one of the best I have played so far on 360 and would recoommend it to fans of actions/adventure games....Oh yeah nad of you're wondeirng I will be buying Assasins Creed 2 when it is released, because the ending leave syou begging for more.

Story : 9.6
Presentation : 9.5
Sound : 8.9
Gameplay : 8.6
Lasting Appeal : 7.3

Overall : 43.9/50

You're as good with games as you are with movies Very Happy This review helped me allot. Everybody always talks about the good things, and it's hard to find an unbiased opinion of this game. Of course, like you said there's more good than bad, so I'll still buy the game. keep 'em coming.
